“Alejandro Pareja, SpartanRace Abu Dhabi 2022 World Champion”

He sends us this chronicle of his experience:

«After a few hours of travel I arrived in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, to do a little acclimatization and have my body ready for race day.

On December 3 was the race in the Abu Dhabi desert, another year on the sand of the dunes that together with the heat of the morning and midday make it a race of extreme hardness.

The start is given at 9:45 in the morning with a 21-kilometer route over dunes, 650 of positive slope and 32 obstacles.

I warm up for 15 minutes and try to be well hydrated for the early stages of the race.

I knew it would come off very strong. And so it was, although I started at my own pace around fifth place to balance my efforts with last year’s experience. As the first kilometers go by, an Emirati and the Frenchman who won the European Championship in London two months ago, in which I finished third, begin to gain a significant advantage. But this is a SpartanRace and on top of that in a very hot desert.

At kilometer 8, with several obstacles already in the body, they begin to slow down and I take the lead in the race with another Emirati who was playing at home. After several attacks from the Emirates from the middle of the race to kilometer 15, I am enduring his changes, but in an obstacle in which agen sbobet he fails, I am left alone to reach the final part of the race, where a large part of the the obstacles and hardness of the route. My passage through the obstacles in the world championships was almost flawless, with a single mistake in the javelin, in the final part, which cost me an additional 200-meter penalty. With this I reached the finish line with a very wide advantage, 7 minutes over the second and 10 over the third.

In the end, this race is very demanding, so physically and mentally you have to know how to control your efforts, due to the combination of running long distances on this terrain and passing obstacles every few meters.

Like last year, I revalidated the world championship. Thus closing a very good 2022, being the Spanish cross triathlon champion, third in the European cross triathlon championship, Spartanrace Andorra champion, third in the SpartanRace European championship, and SpartanRace world champion»
