Maintenance of cardio equipment. Elliptical (III)
Ellipticals are very popular in the gym with greater use than other equipment. If they are not kept up to date with regular maintenance, it is only a matter of time before the equipment needs to be repaired or replaced. Regular maintenance will extend the life of the elliptical.
Recommended weekly maintenance:
Clean the unit with a soft cloth soaked in soapy water. (There is no cleaning agent to spray directly on the elliptical.)
Make sure the elliptical has a smooth movement.
Check that the screen / display works correctly.
Advisable monthly maintenance:
Make sure that squeaks do not occur.
Check all screws and bolts and that they are tight.
Check the power cord for flat spots or breaks.
Make sure all control buttons work properly.
Recommended quarterly maintenance:
Check all bolts at whatever point they pivot on.
Clean and lubricate the bolts on which the elliptical pivots.
That the ramps on which the cranks slide on which the legs are placed are clean and polished.
Verify that the elliptical is working properly.
